Chapter Six
“What are we looking at here, Silas?” Jonah was sprawled out on the plush carpet that Silas had settled in the center of the open floor apartment’s living room area. He was surprised by how comfortable he was in the place, by how quickly he had settled into feeling safe and secure. He knew it was because of Silas, was because he finally had the voice in his ear by his side. Jonah intended to keep it that way. “You said it was something that you couldn’t talk about until we were together.”
“Hmm.” Silas was settled on the couch behind Jonah, chest bare and clad only in a pair of low slung sweat pants, his glasses firmly in place. He reached over to grab the sleek silver laptop that was settled on the coffee table beside him and picked it up to drop it on his stomach. “Technically, as I told you before, I could have told you. I did encrypt that line myself after all. But it really is something I think you have to see to fully understand the depth of what we’re dealing with here.”
Jonah sat up and moved until he was leaning against the side of the couch. He reached up a hand and threaded his fingers through the thick blond hair that curled lazily around Silas’s temple. It was still mussed and disheveled from their activities earlier and Jonah thought Silas looked perfect like that, well fucked and content. He didn’t think he’d ever get enough of touching Silas, couldn’t imagine a time when the ache would go away. Especially not now that he’d had him, not now that they’d taken each other apart in the best kind of way. Silas was an itch in his bones, something Jonah knew he would never be free of.
“Then show me. The sooner we can clear this up the better. I don’t relish the idea of having to run from Spectrum for the rest of our lives. Not when they’re sure to send Mr. Pink after the both of us now.” Jonah grimaced. “Well, Pink I could handle now that I’m prepared, but God forbid either Black or White shows up after our blood.”
“You’re right.” Silas nodded, determination hardening his features for an instance before he sat up on the couch and turned his attention towards his laptop. His fingers flew over the keys at an impressive speed, so quick and sure in their every movement that Jonah felt desire well up inside of him again. He pressed it down, buried it under the thin layer of his control with a promise to unleash it later when the more important issues had been handled.
Finally, after a few long minutes of silence, Silas looked up from the laptop, picked it up and twisted around to drop it on the coffee table in front of Jonah. He shuffled around until his legs were bracketing Jonah’s shoulders and then he leaned forward until his chin was resting on the top of Jonah’s head.
